Watching the political landscape in the United States with their heated differing views on issues like health care, immigration, race, wealth disparity, protectionism, tariffs, world military might, gun control, political gridlock, political leadership, etc. one cannot but feel deeply for the struggles of our nearest and dare say our closest friends. Yes, our Americans friends are struggling and suffering, right now, in their efforts to redefine who they are, what they believe and what they stand for.

This is not the first time that there has been division in the United States and in fact, it is no different than what most other countries go through from time to time. And like most countries and in the USA, in particular, when there has been division. they usually find away out of their difficulties and in fact become an even stronger country.

So, no matter what side of the division one is on, be assured that our friends will eventually resolve their differences and the criticism being hurled at one side or the other, from those looking in from outside their country, will be remembered by them when they become one again and they will not likely forgive, easily, those who have been fueling the division and the disharmony.

I am reminded of a speech that Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian broadcaster, wrote in 1973 when the USA was undergoing some difficulties and the target of international criticism.

I hope that we can reflect on Mr. Gordon's words and instead of criticism we offer our prayers and support as we would with any good friend.

Mr. Charles Ashman of the USA responded with thanks and appreciation to Gordon Sinclair's words. Our American friends are great people and know that their differences are part of the process of getting stronger. As we listen to this response we get a glimpse in how our American friends will eventually address their current differences.

God Bless America.
